The DSP or Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate acts to maximum power between 3:00 and 3:30 hours after its been applied.

Indications And Usage:
Dexaron® Plus is mainly indicated for severe steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular or otic conditions where bacterial infections
or a risk of bacterial infection exists. – Postoperative ocular inflammation – Acute inflammatory conditions of conjunctiva, sclera, lids, iris, ciliary body and anterior segment of the globe such as cyclitis, iritis, iridocyclitis, scleritis, keratitis, vernal keratoconjunctivitis (spring catarrh) – Certain allergic or infective conjunctivitis – Corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns or penetration of foreign bodies – Inflammation of the skin of the external auditory canal (otitis externa)
– Some viral or fungal infections of the cornea and conjunctiva, e.g., herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella – In case of ear infection, drops should not be used when the ear drum is perforated – Hypersensitivity to any component of the medication Precautions – Prolonged use may result in glaucoma, thinning of the cornea and sclera, or secondary fungal infections. Therefore, initiation and renewal of the medication should be made by a physician only after examination. Intraocular pressure should be routinely monitored. – Should not be prescribed for undiagnosed red eye which may be caused by herpes simplex virus. – If inflammation or pain persists longer than 48 hours or becomes aggravated, the patient should be advised to discontinue use of the medication and consult a physician
Dosage & Administration:
Drops: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) or ear(s) 4 times daily. In severe eye diseases, drops may be used hourly, being tapered to discontinuation as inflammation subsides Ointment: Apply either at night (if eye or ear drops were used during the day); or 3 times daily if eye or ear ointment is used alone or as directed by the physician.
